National Military Academy of Afghanistan

Sometimes you just feel like you get lucky. That’s how we felt when a man from Allentown, PA. Mark Sterner called us to say that he wanted to donate flags from all of the countries that were being trained by our National Military Academy of Afghanistan to fight the War on Terror.

The flags on the quad at the Academy when it was first opened were now tattered from the heavy winds in Afghanistan. US Army LTC. David A. Jones contacted his friend Mark and mentioned to him that they needed new flags for the ceremony being held for the first graduating class of the Academy in October 2008.

Mark called us. We volunteered to partner with him. With the quick service of Annin and Company, we managed to get the flags to Afghanistan in short order.

Our flags being flown for the first graduating class at the Academy were a source of great pride for everyone at The Flag Store.
